Frequently Asked Questions

How do I calculate peptide reconstitution volume?

Divide the vial size in mg by your desired concentration in mg/mL to get the solvent volume. For example, a 5mg vial with 2mL of BAC water gives a concentration of 2.5mg/mL (2,500mcg/mL).

How many units on a U-100 syringe equals 1mL?

A U-100 insulin syringe has 100 units per 1mL. So 10 units = 0.1mL, 25 units = 0.25mL, and 50 units = 0.5mL.

Should I use BAC water or PBS?

Most peptides use bacteriostatic water (BAC water) with 0.9% benzyl alcohol. GHK-Cu is the main exception — it requires Phosphate Buffered Saline (PBS) for the correct pH environment. See our GHK-Cu guide for details.

How long does a reconstituted peptide last?

With BAC water, refrigerated at 2-8°C, most peptides last approximately 30 days. GHK-Cu in PBS (without preservative) should be used within 1-2 days. See our Peptide Storage Guide for full details.
